With the recent explosion of growth in the Williamson Valley Corridor, residents felt it necessary to create a citizen-driven Community Plan to guide County leaders in future development within the Corridor. Results of a 2005 public survey clearly indicated that residents want to preserve their rural residential lifestyle.
The Williamson Valley Community Plan, along with the Yavapai County General Plan, forms a guide for County officials and the Williamson Valley community that balances private property rights with residents needs, concerns, and preferred manner of future development. Each section of the plan contains a set of goals based upon survey results, resident input from public meetings and committee research. The implementation strategies are suggestions to achieve these community goals. The policies and strategies within this plan have no regulatory powers or any effect on existing land use.
